Striped Bass

Part 1 of a 2 part series chasing monster striped bass on artificial baits from a kayak. This was a marathon of a trip. My friend Chris Bryant and I covered almost 30 miles of river over the course of two days of fishing. We kicked some tail and caught some monster fish. The grind was worth it! Chris is a savant of his craft and I learned a ton. Top five fishing experiences of my life. Dodging lightening storms, paddling down a river in the dark with current, and chucking massive artificial baits. I can't express to you how dope this eat and fight was! Thanks to my man Chris Bryant for teaching me the ways. We had a hell of a trip and busted our tails. The river delivered with some toads. It doesn't get much better. Boy, are y'all in for one heck of a show! This kind of crazy fishing always happens when you're least prepared for it. Striped bass here in East Tennessee and across the South East have begun shooting up the rivers to start their yearly spawning rituals. This is the absolute best time to get on numbers of big fish. There literally isn't a bait too big this time of year! Me and the boys experienced one of the most tremendous activity periods for stripers ever. Every bait got instantly eaten. Multiple double and triple hookups. Every single bait in the tank got destroyed by a big fish. These are the days fishermen and women live for!
